Kent Woman Busted With Edibles, Marijuana During Speeding Stop, Police Say

A Putnam County woman is facing multiple drug charges after being busted with edible marijuana and hallucinogens during an early morning traffic stop for speeding on Route 52 in Kent.

The Kent Police Department stopped Cagney Donley-Coy, 31, on Route 52 for speeding at approximately 2:40 a.m. on Route 52 in Kent. During the subsequent stop, officers reported that they could detect the smell of marijuana inside the vehicle, prompting further investigation.

During the investigation, officers discovered 2.2 ounces of chocolate compounds containing cannabis and five grams of hallucinogenic, as well as 15 grams of marijuana.

Donley-Coy was arrested and charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both felonies, as well as unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. Following arraignment, Donley-Coy was released and is due back in Kent Court later this year to answer the charges.
